The Medusa Series III

While most of my batiks use a limited amount of color, this piece, which is my first batik work, uses the dyes to their fullest potential. I was able to highlight and shade to give the sense of early morning that the title evokes. The woman is poised yet graceful with a strong connection to the natural world.
