As an artist, I like to represent other art forms, which is why musicians and dancers are common themes for me.  The contrast between light and dark is also essential for my compositions as well as the expression of my subjects.  I want the spectator to feel like she is at a performance.  All art is connected.

This painting probably best represents what I want to convey through my work from both a technical and a visceral standpoint.  Technically, I work to make the lines of the painting flow.  The form, coupled with great attention to coloring/shadowing, produces good art in my opinion.  From the visceral point of view, I hope the painting plunges the spectator into all sorts of thoughts and feelings.
